What you'll learn:
Learn about the PEER structural database
Learn how to perform cyclic pushover analysis using CSI Perform 3D and eSEES (OpenSees).
Understand the basics of calibration an analytical nonlinear structural model with experimental results.
Apply your learning using actual experimental results for RC column from the PEER structural database.
Requirements
Background of structural engineering.
Basic background of nonlinear analysis ( Optional).
Description
This is a crash course about performing a calibration of nonlinear RC analytical column model with experimental results by full cyclic pushover analysis. Two nonlinear structural analysis softwares have been used, which are CSI Perform 3D and eSEES which is a graphical user interface (GUI) for the OpenSees frame work developed by Dr. Silvia Mazzoni.
The course is structured to the following sections:
Introduction to the PEER structural database. (PEER is the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center)
The Perform 3D model and its results.
The eSEES model and its results.
Who this course is for
Undergraduate and graduate structural engineering students
Structural engineers
