In this class I'm going to teach you how to make 3 different styles of Kokedamas, how to chose the right materials (plant, soil, moss, twine, etc.), how to care for your Kokedama and how to personalise and package it if you want to gift it to someone.
This class is for you:
- if you love plants and would like to make a beautiful addition to your home.
- If you're just starting with houseplants and looking for a unique way to display them.
- or if you are looking for a personalised gift for someone you love
Don't worry if you have no experience with plants, I will explain everything.
+ Tips to identify house plants
To identify houseplants you can use the popular plant identification apps for example
- Picture This - free trial period, includes care informations if it gets it right
- Plant Snap
- Garden Answer
- Seek
- iPlant- weird answers like tree, houseplant or yarn?!
- iNaturalist
- Planta - not free
- Leaf snap
- Plantifier
- Smart Plant - can take time if sending to plant experts
-[emailprotected] - most recommended
Take their recommendations with caution though. It is worth to follow up with google searching for the family/genus and try to identify the species and varieties from there.
Use google - type the leaf shape and colour first, look at the photos, click on the closest and look what comes up underneath. Then copy the name into google and go from there again until you get it right
If you are still unsure I recommend going to a plant community and ask. For example upload a photo in a Facebook group if permitted.
I also recommend to listen to some calming music, or whaterever you like while you create. You can hear warm nights and Days like these by Lakey Inspired in the videos.
