Description
Are you studying for the IELTS Academic examination? If so, let Rick Thachuk help prepare you for the Writing Task 1 part of the exam with the goal of achieving a high band score. Rick is a professional economist and the founder of a business English language school, the Online Canadian Academy.
IELTS Writing Task 1 is a test of your ability to write in the unique style of a report. As an economist, Rick has many years of practical experience doing so and that includes report writing in the very demanding environment of a central bank.
In this Course, you will learn
(1) A basic understanding of the six types of input diagrams that are used on the Writing Task 1.
(2) The characteristics of the unique style of writing known as report writing.
(3) A general strategy for achieving a high band score that covers the structure, order and content of the paragraphs of your response with an eye towards the criteria that the examiner uses in grading your response.
(4) Vocabulary that is consistent with report writing - words, phrases, adverbs, adjectives and technical terms - designed to help achieve a high band score.
(5) How an economist contemplates and considers each of the input diagrams that may appear on the Writing Task 1.
(6) How an economist writes a report for each of the input diagrams that may appear on the Writing Task 1, with the goal of achieving a high band score.
This Course is taught in English, so you should have a proficiency level high enough to be able to understand spoken English. (Of course, subtitle in English are also provided.)
